Jupiter Farms is an eclectic mix of luxury estate homes and affordable single family houses for sale on large lots West of I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. The area was sparsely populated in the early 80s and consisted mostly of dirt roads, but affordable land and the growing population on the coast created a boom in real estate sales and construction. Local legend Burt Reynolds used to have a 153-acre ranch off Jupiter Farms Road and parts of his movie Smokey and the Bandit II were filmed in Jupiter Farms and the surrounding areas. It is even rumored infamous gangster Al Capone used the property as a hideout at one time.
I-95 used to end at PGA Boulevard and you had to exit the highway and get on The Florida Turnpike to continue North. That all changed in December of 1987 when the final section of I-95 was completed making interstate highway complete from Miami to Maine. In 1988, against the wishes of many of the local Jupiter Farms residents, the Publix super market-anchored Jupiter Farms Village shopping center opened on the corner of Jupiter Farms Road and Indiantown Road. And slowly but surely most of the dirt roads have been paved.
Still considered rural by Jupiter, Florida standards, Jupiter Farms is an equestrian friendly real estate community and it’s common to see someone on horseback riding down the side of the street. The beautiful white sand beaches of Jupiter are about 20 minutes to the East. And the community is convenient to the Florida Turnpike and I-95 for commuters.
Jupiter Farms is a great real estate community for those that value their privacy and is in Palm Beach County, so children attend Palm Beach County Schools.
