
The history of Gomez Grant goes back to the early 1800s when Don Eusebio Gomez was awarded a land grant by the the King and Queen of Spain of nearly 12,000 acres of what is now known as Hobe Sound and parts of Jupiter Island. Gomez Grant has different modern boundaries depending on who you talk to, but is generally accepted to lie on the Indian River, which is also the Intracoastal waterway in this area, from Mystic Cove to the North all the way South past Bridge Road to S.E. Water Street.
